More Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie news: The first pictures of the couple’s new baby, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, hit newsstands worldwide.
The pictures appear in the new issues of People magazine, Hello! in the UK and New Idea in Australia, after what Hello! features editor Juliet Herd calls “a fierce bidding war.”
According to People managing editor Larry Hackett, “They’re incredibly tender intimate moments of a mother and father with their newborn — they’re not at all glamorous.”
The pictures were taken a week after the baby’s May 27 birth by the same Getty Images photographer who shot the family in the Namibian desert on April 19.
According to Herd, the couple had “the final decision” over which magazines would get the photos because “they had clear ideas of where they wanted to see the pictures run, to do them justice and to know that the story is being treated with due respect.”
Copies of the Hello! cover were leaked online on Tuesday, prompting the magazine’s legal team to order the Web sites to remove the images.
Herd confirms, “It was the real cover, and we don’t know how it leaked.”
The photos were taken at the Burning Shore hotel in Namibia where the couple have been staying. The photographer has not been identified.
The pictures are so coveted that People is raising its cover price to $3.99, just for the issue.
People paid an estimated $4.1 for the images, which the celebrity couple are donating to as-yet-unnamed charities.

Angelina Jolie is expecting a baby this summer with Brad Pitt, according to People magazine’s Web site.
“Yes, I’m pregnant,” the magazine quoted Jolie as telling a charity aid worker Monday in the Dominican Republic, where she is filming “The Good Shepherd” with Matt Damon.
The report says the pregnancy was confirmed by representatives of both stars but does not identify them by name.
The news comes one month after papers were filed to make Pitt the adoptive father of Jolie’s two children. Jolie sought to change the names of the children to Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Jolie-Pitt.
Pitt accompanied Jolie to Ethiopia in July to pick up Zahara, now 1 year old. Jolie’s adopted son, now 4, is from Cambodia.
Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, recently toured quake-devastated areas in Pakistan with Pitt. She met with Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and toured a town largely destroyed by the Oct. 8 earthquake that killed an estimated 86,000 people.
Jolie, the 30-year-old daughter of actor Jon Voight, has appeared in more than two dozen films including “Girl Interrupted” (1999), “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (2001) and “Alexander” (2004).
She is divorced from actors Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.
Pitt, 42, had no children from his 4-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston, which ended in divorce last October. The couple cited irreconcilable differences. Pitt has denied Jolie was behind the split.
Among his 40-plus credits are “Thelma and Louise” (1991), “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001) and “Troy” (2004).
The couple starred together in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” (2005).

Do they make leather onesies? It’s time to find out, because the worst-kept tabloid secret in Hollywood has been confirmed: Angelina Jolie is pregnant with Brad Pitt’s baby.
People magazine reports that on Monday Jolie told a charity aid worker in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, “Yes, I’m pregnant.” Reps for both stars later confirmed the pregnancy, according to the magazine. It is the first biological child for Jolie, 30, who is the mother of son Maddox, 4, whom she adopted from Cambodia and daughter Zahara, 1, adopted from Ethiopia in July.
Due this summer, the baby is also the first child for Pitt, 42, who had no children during his four-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston, which ended in divorce in October. Pitt recently began the process of adopting Maddox and Zahara, including changing their last names to Jolie-Pitt.
Friends told People that Jolie is ecstatic about the baby, due this summer. “This is a woman who values her relationships with her children more than anything,” a source told the magazine. “Now she is creating a family in the context of an adult relationship.”
Jolie — who has been spotted everywhere from Kenya to England, Tokyo and Pakistan with Pitt over the past few months — is in the Dominican Republic filming “The Good Shepard” with Matt Damon.
